Early activity of the African darter

25 February 2014

www.leopard.tv

This shows three African darters sitting on the branches of a dead tree with spread wings to dry them. Two of the darters appear to be males based on their darker colour and one a female because she is more brownish, although the one male may be a young bird. The fact that it is still early in the morning and that the darters have already foraged for food in the waterhole indicates an early onset of feeding activity.
