Identify this sound

21 January 2016

QUESTION:

Can you identify what animal makes this sound?

ANSWER:

Research found that this animal might have a more sophisticated call than previously believed, perhaps like the vowel and consonant system of human speech. When researchers recorded this animals´ calls to each other; combined with what the animals was doing at the time, they picked up an initial sound providing information about the identity of the animal who is calling and a second sound indicating the callers current activity.

Still don´t know?

How about this... This small carnivore are related to the meerkat and occurs widely in southern Africa but is restricted to the bushveld of the more northern provinces of South Africa with an extension along the upper east coast where it may eventually spread to the upper coast of the Eastern Cape province.
